Strategy Panel

This is where the functions allowing you to build and optimize Forex strategies are organized into groups.

At the top of the panel there is a toolbar containing the following buttons: Overview, Generator, Optimizer, Strategy Description as well as the two Slot Size buttons.

Under the toolbar there are some rectangular slots containing the logic of the strategy. These slots have certain functions and are organized in a fixed way:

• Strategy Properties - behaviour of the strategy when averaging, traded amount and the permanent stop-loss;
• Opening point of the position - entry point (Entry Point) - sets the price at which a new position can be opened;
• Opening logic condition - entry filter (Entry Filter) - permits you to open a position; determines the direction of the position;
• Add an opening logic condition - allows you to add entry filters.
• Closing point of the position - exit point (Exit Point) - sets the price at which the position can be closed;
• Closing logic condition - exit filter (Exit Filter) - permits you to close the position;
• Add a closing logic condition - allows you to add exit filters.

The Overview button opens the Strategy Overview information screen. A description of the strategy's logic is generated there.

The Generator button opens the Strategy Generator tool. It automatically generates and improves Forex strategies.

The Optimizer button opens the Strategy Optimizer tool. It optimizes the numeric parameters of the technical indicators.

This button opens the Strategy Description window. You can add a comment about your strategy there or read comments concerning the demo strategies.

If the letter i on the Strategy Description button is blue, it means that there is a comment about the strategy. If it is gray, no comment has been made so far. A yellow point warns that the strategy descriptions might be outdated.

Using these two buttons, you can set the amount of information shown in the indicator slots. The buttons change their contents depending on the current slot size.

• Minimum information - only the names of the indicators are shown;

• Normal information - the names and logic of the indicators are shown;

• Detailed information - the names, logic and parameters of the indicators are shown.

The Strategy Properties slot shows the averaging behaviour of an open position and the constant Stop Loss settings. Click on the slot to change the settings. These parameters apply to the current strategy and are saved together with it.

The indicator in the Opening point of the position slot sets the price at which a position can be opened. If the additional signals settings allow it, this is also the price at which you will be able to add or take from the position.

Adjust the indicator logic to a long position. Forex Strategy Builder will automatically apply a mirror-logic for the short position.

The logic of the indicator situated in the Opening logic condition slot is, in fact, a logical condition.

Provided that the logical conditions of all Opening logic condition slots are met within the time period when the market price reaches the entry price (set in the Opening point of the position slot), an entry signal will be sent.

Adjust the indicator logic to a long position. Forex Strategy Builder will automatically apply a mirror-logic for the short position.

The button Add an opening logic condition allows you to add an additional Opening logic condition slot. This button is active only if the strategy includes less than four Opening logic condition slots.

When pressing the button, a new logic slot is added and the Logic and Parameters of the Indicator dialog box is opened.

The indicator in the Closing point of the position slot sets the price at which a position is closed.

If you are using the Bar Closing slot, you will be able to add Closing logic conditions in the same slot. In that case, provided that at least one of the exit logic conditions is fulfilled, the position will close at Close Price.

Adjust the indicator logic to a long position. Forex Strategy Builder will automatically apply a mirror-logic for the short position.

The logic of the indicator in the Closing logic condition slot is a logical condition by nature.

If at least one logic condition from the Closing logic conditions slots is fulfilled, the position will close at Close price of the bar.

Using the button Add a closing logic condition you can add an additional Closing logic condition slot. This button is active if the strategy includes less than two Closing logic condition slots and if the Bar Closing indicator is loaded in the Closing point of the position slot.

When pressing this button, a new logic slot is added, and the dialog box Logic and Parameters of the Indicator is opened.
